Don't use goldwave. Use DBPower Amp Converter to change the file to a mono 11025hz wav.

You guys need to learn the difference from bad quality to bad levels.  Meaning the bass is to high and DBPower Amp is known for doing this, use an eq modifyer to lower the base then convert it.

If you were getting bad quality after recording it by just listening to it, you probably have a shitty source sound file. If it's just coming out shitty in-game, reduce the bass in Goldwave by going to Effect -> Filter -> Equalizer. Reduce it by 3.0.

If you can't get that, uninstall HLSS altogether.

I thought about deleting Wombat's post entirely...

    A) It doesn't help. B) It doesn't contribute to the conversation. C) Who is he saying No. to?

Do you really want the combined malice of Frost and Alfalfa on you Wombat?  Maybe that's what you're saying no to.
