I'm downloading the demo to see if I can even run this baby. I meet the CPU minamim requirments and surpass it everywhere else so it should be fine. I've heard so much about this game! Anyone else gonna get it?

You could try to use something like PeerGuardian as a proxy. Might let you download torrents.
If I'm not sure about a game then I usually torrent it, then buy it if I like the game enough to want to get multiplayer. The one company that I won't pirate from is Valve. They've listened to their fan base and they are located near where I live in Washington.

Canada has restrictions on peer to peer clients. ISP's north of the border limit the amount of connections that a internet subscriber can connect to. Non-business accounts get severely punished for connecting to multiple peers at the same time.
I doubt that peer guardian will help at all, since it only blocks certain IP's (governments, hackers, and assholes) from connecting to your IP.
