So I was playing the other day and a few people were arguing about all the sounds and mic spamming. One response was, "Its a mic spamming server"
I personally adore all the sounds and stuff, but being labeled as a server that's only identified by them isn't something that I like. I know that I myself am a huge part of this.
Another draw back is that now, every self-serving idiot with hlss thinks they're at liberty to play every stupid, annoying, most faily sound they happened to stumble upon in 4chan.
I know that I am a huge part of the problem here. I am going to tone down the spamming a bit and all I ask is that you guys just consider it, too. I'm not asking to stop by any means just to scale back a little.
I'd like to point out that I'm looking up sounds as I post this.

Perhaps we should institute an informal rule of: Thou shalt only spam a sound once a map. Any more than once a map and the joke is just going to get (kob)OOOOOOOLLLDDDD.

I was playing last fun night, and when everyone is spammin sound with mic, talking a LOT on unrealted game case, and spamming server sound. That why I left that night. I didnt wanted to break the fun, but Its not "fun" to play when everyone do it over and over and over again. |

I to will cut back, perhaps we should listen to each other or voice our opinions when someone is playing a song longer or just a song in general you don't like (kooooobolllllllld)
On fun night its a different story because we have awesome music to go with what we are doing and then there are times where we all need to STFU to listen to someone have an idea or say we should do something.
I don't want this server to be a mic spam server, thats why I have the micspam plugin installed, if that becomes an issue I'll remove the ability to get around it.
Pretty much the things I don't mind are like 1-3 second sound clips because they aren't really interrupting things which is why i feel guilty playing a song because I think im pissing someone off and if anyone says anything I stop playing it even if people ask me to play it.

Yea. I agree. Sometime server spamming is more anyoing. When anyone start saying Pills or jimp.
I could try to votemute everyone. But most of the time, its just making people angry. So I try to avoid votemuting even if i know its democratic.

ill back off the whole mic spamming business too i get a little carried away somtimes  but if som1 asked me nicely, like stobbin does (suprisingly), then i do stop but if people continually badger me and yell at me over the voice chat about somthing im doing and ruining the spirit of the game then i play long things.... like full songs... sry about that TD |

You can turn off server sounds, but one would need to mute a player to stop them from spamming things on the all chat. That doesn't work at the moment.

Well I guys I think Mic Spam is still an issue and it's almost getting worse, not really just with us but in general and it's really getting irritating to the point where I want to turn all talk off or something.
Any ideas on what we can do to make it better? I really don't like even playing sounds so I unloaded hldj. I mean it's fun when people play sounds by popular demand, not one person saying omg play that.... and I'm excluding fun night that goes with out saying.
Even like short clips are fine but not when they are played 5 times within in a min..
I might even take off the ability for everyone to be able to play hl sounds for more than 3 seconds because it's not really quite fair to label one guy bad and let everyone else do it (or majority) but it's also not fair for that to ruin it for everyone else.

well b4 u do somthing like.... turn alltalk off or *edit* (mandatory) mute for ppl who use relatively long mic clips or use them too much..... u could consider:
giving admins the responsibility of making sure ppl dont abuse their microphone usage rights... whatever that may entail.. idc
if that dont work, you can at least say you gave ppl a chance to shut the fuck up...
