Uh, let me check my library, I don't have too much mainstream stuff, but I have a lot of metal. Do you just want stereotypical metal, or are you willing to listen to other sub-genres such as symphonic or avant-garde? Here are some suggestions for stereotypical metal: Amon Amarth (Death Metal) :: Sample: Death in FireIn Flames (Melodic Death Metal) :: Sample: Drifter -OR- Free FallSonata Arctica (Metal) :: Sample: Paid in FullMegadeth (Metal) :: Sample: Symphony of DestructionHere are some sub-genre stuff: Kamelot (Symphonic Power Metal) :: Sample: March of Mephisto -OR- Ghost OperaNightwish (Symphonic Metal) :: Sample: Planet Hell (LIVE)Stolen Babies (Avant-Garde Metal) :: Sample: Awful FallEpica (Symphonic Metal) :: Sample: Fools of Damnation -OR- The Divine Conspiracy (It's in two parts) - A note on these two: they take a while to start but are quite good (at least, in my opinion). Ayreon (Alternative Metal) :: Sample: Day Three: Pain

I would recommend Devin Townsend, its metal, but its not at the same time if that makes sense. Especially the album Terria, its awesome to lie back and listen to. Strapping young lad (his band before he went solo) are just metal but they make some pretty sweet music as well. Also, i'd go with Miyuggi on the liquid tension experiment. Its trippy shit.

You would like Killswitch Engage. Super Happy Story Time Land is a hilarious sub-genre of metal. Disciple is Christian metal, but don't dismiss them because of that; they're really good.
Try something outside of your predetermined Box? A pretty significant portion of my life has been wasted by the following: Nine Inch Nails, Mindless Self Indulgence, Marilyn Manson, Schoolyard Heroes, Rage Against the Machine, A Perfect Circle, Powerman 5000, The Mars Volta, DragonForce, etc.

Be quiet fool, the boobs are watching... always watching.... Once a giant laser squid from space landed at my house and said it would destroy the world. Squiddeh, I love you so much. I may or may not have inked myself... I'll let you know after my cold shower.

You should check out indie bands like Sunset Shootout, some of them are pretty good. Dunno if that'd be what you're into, but it's pretty sweet
