So I'm finally done moving and all is pixie-dust and unicorns right?
Yeah...WRONG.
I'm trying to connect to Steam so I can play TF2 because I'm deprived of it at the moment. I'm on the second floor of my parent's place and my modem is downstairs high above some cabinets out of range to hook up to. So I figure, why not just connect to the wall. Same thing right? NOOOOOOooooo. So I ask Steam and their lovely troubleshooting FAQ and turns out I need to hook up to the modem.
SO! My question is, is there something magical I can do instead of finding a way to hook up to the modem? (because really, it is out of my reach. I'm short.)
Pwease help? I wanna plaaaaay!!! T_T

Buy a linksys router and hook that up to the cable modem. Then run both computers off the router with a network cable. If you need help just as me.

Cool, thanks for the help guys. I'll try some things out. However, while this is happening, I will be absent from the server YET AGAIN. So I apologize about this. When I joined up with the clan I had every intention of playing every day after school got out. It's been two weeks since I've jumped on consecutively. So again, I apologize for that. My boyfriend still has awesome connection and I'm probably going to be able to see him every weekend so I'll probably only get on then. Bummer.
Eventually when I get my own place it'll be so much easier to play all the time so this is just a temporary situation until I earn enough monies to live on my own again.
Lesson to learn kids: College drains you from your money, but magically enough, it'll earn you more money in the long run. It takes, then give back. Magic.

Just go through the vents, it's really not that hard and the cable can take the heat and cold air that runs through them. No drilling or anything and it works just fine. Let me know if you need help.
