Anyone know games that are time consuming but not boring.  I am looking for something new to play for more then 10 hours total.  All the games I have played with in the last 2 years outside of teamfortress 2 have been epic fails.  Good graphics and no content.  Fuck even Mario took longer to beat then 99.9% of games as of late.  If you can find me a interesting game that I havent played/beat that is no longer then 5 years old please let me know.  100+ hours of gameplay would be amazing.  I am so sick of games that I start and I can beat in under 2 days. Morrowind is in my top 3 for best games.  i enjoyed it much more than Oblivion. I played it for a looooooooong time.  then made a new character with opposite attributes, and the game-play made the game feel new again. I re-installed it a couple weeks ago because I'm ready to play it again.

That game is a lot richer in story, and has a lot more invested into the character's cultures & culture clashes that ensue than Oblivion.  Although, you definitely need to download (at minimum) new textures in order to get the full immersion; the stock ones are distractingly horrible.  There are also some great mods for the game.

some people were making a mod called Morroblivion that adds the isle of Morrowind as an explorable location in Oblivion (characters & story included), but when i tried it ( about a year ago), all of the towns were underwater and you still have the spell limitations that are in Oblivion (no flying, or super jumps).  Not sure if it has improved since then or not.

I played that for over 400 hours.  Funny, kind of corny story, like 9 different endings.  Max character level is 9,999.

Disgaea is in either japanese or english, i played it in japanese with english subtitles.  Much like most animes, it was way better that way.

I like DOW2, but I was just recommending the demo - I'm not sure if it is worth buying.  Unless you are me and don't feel like buying $1,000 worth of miniatures, but want to play around with warhammer 40k stuff.

Yep they did, they aren't great but certainly a lot better.  In my opinion this is one of the best games ever made and I like it better than even oblivion or Fallout 3.  I was going to suggest it but it fell a little sort of your 5 year old criteria.  However I highly recommend picking up the game because there's so much to explore and do.  It also has great replay value because you can change your stats around and force yourself to play differently.

Way to ez and way to short....  The crafting system was horrible...  The perks were horrible.  The Story line was ok.  Not enough suits of armor...  and the look down sight was not true.  Assassins creed... Excute = disguise....  GTA 4 was not a bad game but I beat it alrdy..  Prototype was to ez..   WC3 is good but meh I dont like RTS that much..

Fallout 3 was good in the idea of the modding community. If the crafting system was horrible and there weren't enough suits of armor, you're doing it wrong. Same goes for GTA4. Assassin's Creed was good. Prototype wasn't supposed to be hard, it's supposed to be to indulge a power fantasy, and that's your fault you don't like RTS.

The Disgaea games are amazing, and funny. The first one has a better story, but the 2nd has better gameplay. Also, by the same company, you could get Phantom Brave, which is one of the deepest strategy games available.

MOTHER / MOTHER 2 / MOTHER 3
best series available, ever. Pokemon took me over 10 hours to beat, and I'm still playing now that i've tracked over 150 hours... Pikmin series is the most fun I've ever had with RTS. Shadow of the Colossus is a great game that can last over 10 hours, depending on how fast you can figure out giant monsters. DDR will always last you 10 hours or more. Touhou series, because I know you really want to throw your life away. I've played Tetris for 10 hours in one sitting... Tales of Symphonia lasts 80+ hours to beat once, has great game mechanics and a deep storyline, but more fun if you play with friends. Replay Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Tooie, because it's still fun. Paper Mario was mentioned earlier, pick that up, and Legend of the 7 Stars. Advance Wars is turn-by-turn, and really fun. Dynasty Warriors took me a while to unlock all characters, even with friends speedrunning missions with me. Keep on beating Portal until you narrow your time down to 0:44:xx (post if you do).
