I have to be that dick and write Inglourious Basterds as it's spelled on the marquee prominently a few times to not-so-subtly correct you. Inglourious Basterds.
I went and saw it on the 21st when it first came out (with Denver and undeaddinosaur no less) and yes, I loved it. I looooooved it. It made me come. It is by far, the most entertaining war movie I have ever seen and my early call for the best film of 2009.
Movie aside (it takes a lot of self restraint not to keep harping on it, claps for Harley), the soundtrack is just as brilliant as the flick itself and I recently just acquired it. Like always with QT's flicks, the music is a major character in the film. In this case, the character being played seems to be Blondie from Good Bad and the Ugly, since there's a large amount of Ennio Morricone tracks that are lifted straight from the old spaghetti westerns. Not unlike Kill Bill, it somehow manages to work perfectly in the midst of Nazi-occupied France. Go figure. I'm not sure which track specifically you're talking about -- the soundtrack tends to go from spaghetti western tracks, to some exploitation from the 70s, to vintage German folkish music. I know the music leading up to that is Slaughter by Billy Preston, but I dunno when he's actually talking to Hugo what's playing. But, the movie is ripe with that vintage kinda feel that TF2 gives off so I can see where you'd think that.
Inglourious Basterds.

Aww, why'd you walk out? And that scene is ridiculously tense for revolving around dairy products as much as it does.

jeeez Who gives a shit. You aint even a real drink, just powder that peeps mix wiz tap Aqua so why would anyone even listen to u? and by the way, I bet he called za movie basterds bcz the finale of the movie (main thing of any movie, right?) invoves them and so other people introduced in the beginning episodes. And I personnalt didnt have against subtitles, in European countries most foreign movies come with subtitles, so I don't know whats bad about it. I think its good when dialoges are simple and witht heir simplicity and clearity can convery a complicated idea, it is more difficult that way than trying to talk like God .. peace

1978 war flick by the same name, before the variation on the spelling QT threw out there. Tarantino's flicks have always been fanboy mishmahes of his favorite shit growing up, and in this case he was more obvious about that fact -- although this flick is far from a remake of the original. I'm not sure if I can agree with it being marketed as Inglourious Basterds on the backs of the American cast since, aside from Pitt, there wasn't much of a headlining cast for anyone to rush out and see. Unless there are more rabid BJ Novak fans than I'm aware of, lol. If that were true I think they'd push the Mike Meyers appearance more than they did. saw it last night and enjoyed it. The jewbear part was intense Eli Roth is my favorite thing in the world. I wants me some Bear Jew.

Mike Myers was marketed heavy as hell in Canada, as was BJ Novak, but I don't think they were so much in the US. To be honest all you need to have a movie turn a profit is have Brad Pitt in it. I can't think of any movie his action was bad in. The subtitles were to make it an international movie, but they used the same advertisements in EVERY country, the ones pushing the American cast. They didn't even push the tour de force casting in theor own respective countries (Germany and France). I'm not even sure the movie is showing in Germany due to the swastikas present throughout the movie.

I actually enjoyed the Robert Rodriguez film more Grindhouse is wonderful (: I'm a grindhouse-movie-enthusiast, I love all the old exploitation titles shamelessly and seeing those guys' take on the genre was super interesting. I think Rogriguez's offering more accessible and it definitely doesn't suck. Planet Terror is a whole mess of fun. "I'm Cherry." "You sure are." I do have to say that Death Proof is my favorite of the two though. It mostly does have to do with Kurt Russell being deliciously creepy as Stuntman Mike. I loved all the girls in it as well, though, and the final chase scene -- from playing ship's mast onwards -- is absolutely killer. I think it's a dead-on throwback to the sort of Mother Jugs and Speed, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry type gearhead flicks from the 70s.

Death proof was awesome starting with the ship's mast part. I actually started enjoying the movie as soon as he gave rose mcgowan a ride home But i got super bored at the beginning. As one of the unwashed masses, I sometimes get a little tired with Quentin's character development. However, I really enjoyed it in Inglorious Basterds, so who knows. I actually heard District 9 was really good, so I want to go see that. My wife wants to see "gamer" I think she is just in love with that scruffy guy, gerard butler or something

I was unable to go see District 9 due to some major scheduling conflicts... the only movie out now I wanna see is Halloween 2. Just because I'm a horror completist. And Inglourious Basterds again. :3

Actually I saw Disctrict 9 a week ago and let me tell ya... it was fucking weird. I don't know if you are big fans of the movies that has that "realistic" feel to it. Think of that movie as the handheld camera for the travelling channel Anyways, I liked the plot, I didn't like how bizarre it was. And acting wasn't there either with that hard south african accents (the place of events). Jackson tried to do something new but I dunno, it was fucking too weird to my taste)) Most people that I went with (5 of them) at the end were like "Hmmm, WTF .." lol i think they didnt know what to say, it has quite a bit of advertising behind it but.. it didnt do it for me

It's a serious, thoughtful goddamn sci-fi movie. And yes I'm lauding it without seeing it, but, bear with me. Jackson funded this guy and slapped his name on it and this little short film that was nothing and made a legitimate, original, non-franchise sci-fi flick that people have enjoyed in droves and are talking about non-stop. This is the gateway for more quality flicks to get the funding they need and hopefully give us a break from the parade of sequels and shitty translations from either foreign cinema or video game properties or movies that hit all the right notes in the 1950s. And that's why the Inglourious Basterds soundtrack is great.

So what are your thoughts on Avatar? I'm very very intrigued by Avatar. Cameron is one of the godfathers of sci-fi. The first two Transformer flicks aren't only milestones of the genre, they're also amazing testaments to smart writing and amazing pacing and, for those willing to look, some interesting philosophy. And I was actually watching some of Alien 3 last night and Cameron helmed its immediate predecessor, which is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I very much have faith in the guy to not helm a shitty endeavor with Avatar. Hopefully this is some kind of trend coming around because, as much as I love and WILL glut myself on things like Transformers, I get all fangirly and giddish when this stuff starts knockin' about. It's way exciting.

Alien three kinda sucked, the first two rocked my world. As for avatar, wtf!? I already have one to the left of this post. Though I will go see avatar the last air bender even if it sucks because that show grew on me because I had nothing to to at 12 o'clock on a week night but watch the animated series on nicktoons. Shit I know I'm a loser.

Delicious was standing on his chair, shirt off, swinging it around over his head, bellowing a bunch of "WOOOOOO!!"s & "FU** YEAHHHHHH!!!"s.
It sounds extreme, but he does the same thing all the time ever since he was featured in the audience on an episode of the Price is Right.

I'm something of a gorehound though and I glut myself on that kinda pulpy, visceral stuff as much as I do the melodramatic tension-filled atmospheric kinda vibes. I'm a fan of anything shocking in film, though. John Waters is a hero of mine, lol. So yeah, I was squeak-laughing and giggling the entire time with ya, Delicious.

imma watch Inglorious Basterds soon, but District 9 was an excellent movie, it was realistic in the sci-fi and near the end, there were a LOT of BFGs it starts very slowly though mostly to set the plot and characters down all in all, a very good movie also my friend yelled to the screen "HIGH-FiVE" when the black guy said "I dont believe in god" and we all laughed

I might be the only one who thinks acting in D9 wasnt good. Also, if someone could explain me about this guy who got the responsibility to transfer those aliens to the new area. When he comes up to their shacks he not only tries to sign them up but also gets the whole search campaign for weapons? where did that come from? I though he is the office rat who is not supposed to be the military guy.
It was one of the episodes that didnt make sense. LIke is is trying to be nice to aliens and stop soldiers from killing them and in the next shot he searches for weapons and burns their eggs... doesnt frikin make sense...

lol, Denver and Dinosaur were both calling the scout thing in the theatre while I was busy imagining myself betrothed to the Bear Jew. Dinosaur also brought up another point, which was that Hans Landa "The Jew Hunter", or, Christoph Waltz, bears a striking resemblance to the medic.

Holy shit, this might be the dumbest fucking post I've ever read on this forum.

hahaha, he totally does! lol, Denver and Dinosaur were both calling the scout thing in the theatre while I was busy imagining myself betrothed to the Bear Jew. Dinosaur also brought up another point, which was that Hans Landa "The Jew Hunter", or, Christoph Waltz, bears a striking resemblance to the medic.
