Some views and opinions on the soldier/demo update

Alright, this has to be one of the "Better" updates of TF2, the weapons are nice, the new maps are cool, and it gives players some different choices of how to play Solly/DEMMAHMOHN?

Soldier Stuff and opinions.

The Direct Hit - Replaces the normal rocket launcher

70% smaller splash radius than Rocket Launcher, though rockets travel 80% faster, and inflict 25% more damage. Scores Mini-crits on airborne targets

Pretty nice, something the soldier needed some time ago, faster rockets, and for those who have good aim + Juggling skills, the Mini crits will be kind of nice, rather than just the typical "Meh, aim low, fire at it, yawn..."

Buff Banner - Replaces shotgun

Damage dealt fills a rage meter while the banner is equipped. When this meter is full the wielder can sound a bugle, granting 14 seconds of mini-crits to nearby teammates

Alright, this is a pretty cool little buffer that they added in, should give some good soldiers the chance to turn the tide in battles, or just be a serious douchebag and Roflstomp an enemy, unfortunately i don't have one... yet... but it should be an interesting tool for future updates and achievements to come

The Equalizer - Replaces Shovel

When equipped, melee damage and movement speed scale inversely with the amount of health the wielder has left

Okay, this thing is fucking awesome, i love it SOOOO much, Why, you ask? I can sit in spawn for a few seconds, put myself in a few explosions, and run slightly slower than a scout, and 2 shot another soldier, really just let loose with some Benny B righteousness, reckoning if some tryhard doesn't shoot me down first, you can do some serious damage with it

The Gunboats - Replaces the shotgun

While this item is equipped, the user takes 75% less damage from their own rocket when used to perform a Rocket Jump.

What can i say about this? It's a pretty simple damage reducer, mainly for those rocketjump happy fellas. If Demomen would've won, they would get these too, but of course, soldiers kicked their asses. I personally think the buff banner would put the "Team" in "Team Fortress 2". but then again, who's gonna climb that damn tower in Orange when some asshole engineer built a sentry in the middle? Soldier, that's who.
